The purpose of installing the paddle tennis court in Lille is to promote this sport in France by taking advantage of the sporting event.
The French city of Lille is hosting past weekend the Davis Cup tennis final between France and Switzerland.
On the occasion of this tennis event of worldwide interest and taking advantage of the large influx of public and media at Verdepadel we have taken the opportunity to set up a paddle tennis court in the main square of the aforementioned French town, capital of the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region, very close to the border with Belgium.
The installation of the padel court has caused a sensation among the citizens of Lille and the visitors who flooded the town this weekend to watch the Davis Cup final.
One of the first visitors was the mayor of Lille, Martine Aubry, a former minister in the Mitterrand government.
In the words of the company responsible for the construction of padel courts “Verdepadel has always put all its efforts to publicise and promote the exciting sport of padel, first in Spain and now in the rest of Europe, starting with France.
